Where is Cala Pi Beach

Cala Pi Beach is close to a small residential area of the same name, Cala Pi, which is located 10.6 miles or 17 km from the nearest town, Llucmajor, in southern Mallorca. Llucmajor is only 35 minutes by car from the city of Palma, the capital of the island.

How is Cala Pi Beach

Cala Pi is a beautiful cove of golden sand, rocks and stones.

It is 45 meters long and 150 meters wide.

The shoreline area may be small, but it deepens significantly towards the stream at the back of the beach. The name Pi means Pine in catalan. Pine trees surround this cove which is guarded between two cliffs over 20 meters high. It has a small pier and the waters are turquoise color.

Cala Pi Beach is situated at a confluence of a stream, where the sea creates an inlet that stretches approximately 500 meters before reaching the beach.

How to Get to Cala Pi Beach

By Car

From Llucmajor:

Take the Ma-6015 road, and after around 9.3 miles (15 km), you will arrive at a clearly marked intersection. At that point, turn right to follow the Ma-6014 road towards Cala Pi.

From Palma:

Palma it is about 30 miles (45 km) away. Take the Ma-19 road, and you will arrive in approximately 45 minutes.

Once you arrive, look on Google Maps for “Restaurante El Mirador”. It is close to the place from where you will descend to the cove. After a short walk, you will find the stone stairway of 147 steps with a considerable slope.

By Boat

At the cliff entrance, there are three stones on the left side. Boats must approach the central area to anchor. However, this is feasible only for smaller boats arriving early because the cove’s depth ranges from two to five meters on a sandy bottom. The nearest port, Club Náutico s’Estanyol de Migjorn, is 4 nautical miles away.

Psicobloc, also known as deep-water soloing, involves climbing on cliffs and caves near the water. Athletes don’t use ropes, so if they slip, they fall into the water. It offers more freedom of movement but comes with higher risk. It’s recommended to do this sport with a partner for safety.

Llucmajor is the closest town to Cala Pi. With almost 40,000 people, it is neither a small town nor a big city. It is not a crowded tourist destination but has very good hotels and services for tourists.
