Magaluf is a well-known tourist destination located in the municipality of Calviá, about 18 km from Palma, the capital of Mallorca.

For many years, it had held a bad reputation due to excesses committed by young tourists, particularly from the UK and other European countries. Excessive drinking and partying, along with absolute disrespect towards locals, have forced the government to control this kind of behavior in order to raise the quality of tourism arriving on the island.

How to arrive to Magaluf

By car: From Palma it takes around 20 minutes via the Ma-1 road. If you drive directly from the airport, it may an additional 5 minutes. A taxi ride from the airport to Magaluf costs around €45.

By bus: Take EMT line A-1 from the airport to Plaza España. From there, go to the Intermodal Station and take the TIB 102, 104, or 106 lines to reach Magaluf.

Magaluf has tried hard to change this image. The owners of bars claim to have made million-dollar investments to enhance their premises, which they consider to be unmatched in Mallorca. They assert that the era of happy hours and cheap alcohol, which originated in Magaluf during the tourist boom, is now a thing of the past. Defending the transformation, they emphasize that no bars in Mallorca compare to those in Punta Ballena, with substantial investments for their renovation and unique pricing.
