The Best Beaches in Alcudia
1. Playa de Alcudia
Of all the Alcudia beaches, this is the biggest and most well-known. It stretches over almost 8 km in length and is 200 meters wide. Located in the Port of Alcudia, palm and pine trees add to the beauty of its white sands and clear waters.
A significant section of the beach has a promenade beginning at the marina and is full of restaurants, hotels, and bars, making it usually very crowded. There is another less crowded section with not as many buildings, which stretches to reach Playa Muro.
Considered one of the best beaches in Spain, it was chosen as the best beach in Mallorca in 2016 by Conde Nast Traveller magazine.
Alcudia Beach is ideal for families with kids due to its calm waters. It offers every service, including a disability-accessible walkway. Pets are not allowed.
To get there, you need to drive to the port, where parking near the beach is available.
Recommended Hotel:
The Iberostar Ciudad Blanca in front of the Alcudia Beach is an all-inclusive family-friendly hotel. It features outdoor pools for adults and children, playground, pet accommodation, jacuzzi, professional shows, water sports, 15,000 m² of gardens, 3 restaurants and 2 bars.

2. Playa de Muro
Playa de Muro is located between Playa de Alcudia and Can Picafort Beach. Among all the Alcudia beaches, this is perhaps the busiest one. With white sand and calm shallow waters, it is perfect for spending a family holiday with kids.
There are a large number of bars, restaurants, and shops selling souvenirs in Playa de Muro. It is equipped with every service, and a part of the beach is included in the National Park of S’Albufera.
Playa de Muro and the one next to it, Can Picafort, are two beaches in Alcudia that have been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag certification.
Recommended Hotel:
The Iberostar Alcudia Park, located on Muro Beach, is a modern hotel with a lagoon-style pool, sun terrace, daily activities, and a children’s star camp. Dining options include a buffet restaurant and café-bar. Cycling tours are available.

3. Can Picafort
This beach is next to the residential area of the same name and close to Playa de Muro. It is 1300 meters long and 30 meters wide.
Can Picafort has become a very lively and touristic beach, primarily catering to German tourists. As a Blue Flag beach, it fulfills all the necessary requirements.
There is parking, services, and restaurants nearby.
Recommended Hotel:
Can Picafort Palace, situated in Can Picafort, offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness center, a restaurant, and a terrace. The hotel has an indoor pool, sauna, nightclub, and shared lounge. There is a children’s playground on-site.

4. Son Serra de Marina
This golden sand and pebble beach is 7 km from Can Picafort. It has a length of 400 meters and is 50 meters wide. In some areas, sand alternates with rocks.
The beach, while not entirely natural, undergoes changes caused by storms and current dynamics, resulting in the sand from this area being carried towards Alcudia beach. Consequently, Alcudia beach requires periodic replenishment while the relocated sand finds its new home in Son Serra de Marina, Can Picafort, and Playa de Muro. Remarkably, despite this process, the environment maintains a near-natural state.
There are showers, parking and the beach is suitable for camping.

5. S’illot
S’Illot is a beautiful rocky cove located in Cape La Victoria, just 5 km from the city of Alcudia. It stretches about 300 meters in length and is 15 meters wide.
The surrounding pines and abundant vegetation give the water its turquoise color, and there are no waves in the cove. This fact makes S’illot one of the most recommended Alcudia beaches for families with children.
The seabed combines sandy gaps, rocky formations, lush vegetation, and a diverse array of fish species, making it ideal for snorkeling and exploring hidden caves.
There are restaurants nearby; however, this idyllic spot is also perfect for organizing a picnic, though be aware of wild goats that may come searching for food.
A disability-accessible walkway is available to access the picnic area, but not the beach.
Recommended Hotel:
Universal Hotel Perla is located on Mallorca’s S’Illot Beach, offering an outdoor pool, restaurant, and Wi-Fi access. Rooms feature TV, safe, and most offer sea views. Enjoy the Sky Bar, beauty treatments, and bike hire services.

This cove of stones is located 8 km from Alcudia and is 220 meters long and 50 meters wide. From the parking place, you have to go down for about 20 minutes through a steep and slippery road, so be aware and wear suitable shoes. You will also need them to enter the water since you will only step on stones.
This cove is like a hidden paradise, and some visitors consider it not only one of the most charming beaches in Alcudia but also in all of Mallorca.

It’s easy to arrive. There is a nearby parking area and some restaurants, but no other types of services are available. In front of the beach, there is a nice view of a small island with a lighthouse, as well as a view of the mountains. The little island can be reached by swimming.

Formentor Beach
Although outside of Alcudia, I couldn’t skip recommending a visit to Formentor Beach. It takes about 20 minutes by car to reach Formentor beach from Alcudia.
Formentor Beach is located in one of the most unspoiled spots of all Mallorca, with views of the magnificent Tramuntana mountains and surrounded by a landscape of pine forests.
This Blue Flag beach is one km long and only 12 meters wide. It has all the necessary services, including a disability-accessible walkway. The beach is divided into three zones, and the rental of beach umbrellas and hammocks can be a little expensive.
